As for straight couples staying there, I think that'd be pretty cool! Well, as long as the straight couples are gay-friendly. Somehow though, Ryan's floor combined with our air mattress always won out. Though quite truthfully, I never thought of Slap as an 'anti-homophobia' blog per se... just one reporting gay news. Maybe the very act of bringing gay-related news stories to greater attention is anti-homophobic in and of itself. Or pro... homo... something. Anyway, the article is very cheerful and optimistic, but I personally believe there is no way Calgary will ever, ever, ever welcome a 'splash of pink' except with gritted teeth and some guys from the Tourism Board poking people in the back with knives. :-( PS.
